Throughout our firm’s long history, we’ve had the privilege of assisting clients with the preservation and restoration of many historic and architecturally significant buildings in Saskatchewan.

Fairbanks Morse Lofts

The conversion of the Fairbanks Morse building into residential units was the first warehouse conversion of its kind in Saskatoon.  A total of twelve loft units were inserted on the upper three floors, while an existing retail outlet and a new lobby for the residential units was incorporated on the main.  The basement was renovated to provide an amenity space, visitor unit, storage area, and mechanical room.  A rooftop terrace was provided for the use of residents.  We worked carefully with the heritage coordinator at the City of Saskatoon to ensure that the character defining elements of the building were not lost during the renovation.

Holy Rosary Cathedral

The ongoing renewal of the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Regina is a multi-phase project to conserve and restore this historic landmark in the Cathedral neighbourhood. Completed renovations to date include a new accessible entrance, washrooms, and elevator, as well as a new addition at the back of the Cathedral to rebuild the previously deteriorated exit stair. Future renovations will include a renewal to the basement hall and the replacement of the belfry spires.

RCMP Drill Hall

“The […] rehabilitation of the Drill Hall reflects the [original] 1929 design philosophy by exposing the elegant steel angle trusses and sloping ceiling, reinstating the east and west window arrangements, adding new bleachers, and repairing the floor with a non-resilient hardwood system that is suited to current adaptive uses. Solid oak exterior doors have replaced the previous 1950s aluminum doors. [This renovation reflects the original] high, gabled volume with abundant natural light, and displays an elegant interior which is suitable for drill, parade, graduation ceremonies, reception, and other functions.”
