Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan
Location: Regina, SK
The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan involved a major renovation of the existing CBC Building to consolidate the Archives collection from five locations into one.

Former office space was renovated to provide a user-friendly, comfortable space where the researchers and the public can access part of the collection.
This renovation also included new offices and workspace for the Archives staff, where they could review, process, and catalogue new materials.
The collection is massive is both breadth and depth and in need of carefully controlled environmental conditions for its preservation. The collection is now housed in six large storage vaults with environmental controls. This required the renovation of old televisions studios, a workshop, storage rooms, and the creation of a new below grade space.
The vaults feature a Vortex fire suppression system that utilizes water and nitrogen gas to create a fog, in the event of a fire, which extinguishes the fire without getting the valuable collection wet and without the health and environment risk of halons.
